SemiCon

Semiconductive Strand-Fill Sealant

A semiconductive strand-fill compound designed to fill the interstitial voids within stranded medium- and high-voltage cable conductors, preventing longitudinal water migration while maintaining electrical continuity across the conductor cross-section. This compound is a drop-in alternative to conventional polyisobutylene (PIB)-based strand fillers, compatible with standard twin-screw compounding and side-feed or in-line application equipment — no specialized tooling required.

Applications

  • Medium-voltage (5–35 kV) shielded power cable
  • High-voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission cable
  • Compact and standard concentric stranded copper and aluminum conductors
SpecVolume resistivity: well within < 5,000 Ω·cm (ICEA T-117) across standard conductor sizes
